While a good portion of our projects are located in the San Francisco Bay Area, we do work throughout California. Senior Architectural Historian / Project Manager

As a growing firm, we are currently seeking a Senior Architectural Historian / Project Manager with 4 to 8 years of professional experience.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of historic preservation philosophies and current methodologies
  • Knowledge about the function and design of historic structures
  • Preparation of Historic Structures Reports
  • Ability to identify appropriate treatment measures for affected historic structures
  • Experience with survey methodologies
  • Ability to write standard industry reports - HRE, HSR, SISR Reviews and National Register Nominations
  • CEQA research/NEPA environmental review
  • Familiarity with HABS/HAER level documentation
  • Solid client communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent writing and editing abilities
  • Maintain project timelines and budgets
  • Field work as part of report preparation
  • Comfort with a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary team work environment
  • Project management capabilities including team coordination
  • Minimum Requirements:
  • Masters degree in Historic Preservation, Architectural History, Preservation Planning or related field
  • Candidate must meet the Secretary of the Interior's Professional Qualification Standards for Historic
  • Preservation and/or Architectural Historian

Conditions Assessment Specialist / Architectural Historian
Full-time

As a growing firm, we are currently seeking a Conditions Assessment/Architectural Conservator/Architectural Historian with 2 to 5 years of professional experience. We work with a wide variety of clients in a diverse geographic region.

Candidates should be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of, and experience with the following:

  • Standard industry reports - HRE, HSR, SISR Reviews and National Register Nominations
  • Historic preservation philosophies and current methodologies
  • Secretary of the Interior's Treatment Standards
  • Survey methodologies
  • CEQA/NEPA environmental review
  • Regional development trends/ planning requirements
  • Conditions Assessment Reports
  • Understand both exterior and interior construction materials
  • Some working knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Advising and providing AutoCAD construction document notations
  • Treatment recommendations for common building materials and conditions issues
  • Paint Sample Analysis
  • Solid client communication skills
  • Excellent writing and editing abilities
  • Keen sense of project timelines and budgets
  • Field work as part of report preparation
  • Comfort with a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary team work environment

Minimum Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Preservation Planning, Historic Preservation, Architectural History or related field
  • Exceed Secretary of Interior's Historic Preservation Professional Qualification Standards for Architectural History

Job Captain
3-7 Years Experience

As a growing firm, we are currently seeking a Job Captain with 3 to 7 years of professional experience.

Job Captain candidates should be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of, and experience with, the following:

  • Understand both exterior and interior construction detailing and be able to communicate clearly with team members and sub-consultants
  • Preparation of construction documents in collaboration with project manager and drafters
  • Participate in CAD drafting standards and protocols
  • Experience in all phases of the building code and planning processes, design detailing, construction documents, and construction administration
  • Ability to develop drawing sets, submittal milestones, basis of design, perform code research

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture
  • Highly accurate AutoCAD and Revit drafting skills are required
  • Solid client communication skills
  • Excellent writing and editing abilities
  • Keen sense of project timelines and budgets
  • Comfort with a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary team work environment
