Garavaglia Architecture Inc. is a dynamic firm conveniently located in downtown San Francisco. Established in 1986, our range of projects includes civic, commercial, institutional, and residential projects with a specialization in historic preservation and increasing focus on sustainability. While a good portion of our projects are located in the San Francisco Bay Area, we do work throughout California. The firm actively seeks projects that challenge our integrated architecture and preservation services, including a variety of interesting and unusual projects both intricate and large. Intermediate Designer/Drafter

We are currently seeking an Intermediate Designer Drafter from 3-5 years of professional experience. The unique projects range from a local history museum, hotel rehabilitations and downtown revitalization projects. We work with a wide variety of clients in diverse geographic regions.

Drafter Designer candidates should be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of and experience with the following:

  • 3-5 Architectural Studio experience
  • Work with commercial, residential and institutional properties
  • Proficiency in CAD software
  • Drafting in all phases of documentation
  • Microsoft Office and use of other basic applications
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good writing and editing abilities
  • Keen sense of project timelines and budgets
  • Comfort with a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary work environment

Additional preferred abilities include:

  • Self-motivation and self-directed in a team environment
  • Active participation and personal development
  • Understanding of the California Historical Building Code and Secretary of Interioršs Standards
  • Understanding sustainable building practices.
  • Understanding of conventional building construction.

Prospective applicants should have a minimum of a Bachelor degree in architecture and an interest for historic architecture and sustainable design.
